I cannot help but question this ad. I found on goggle advertising images. What are they
trying to convey? Throughout the world we know sex sells but within this advertisement
I feel that the handbags imply that women will do anything to shop. The men
shoes on her back may imply that she would let men walk all over her. I am
confused about the belts, battered women could look at this add as
offensive. If this was simply meant to sell men and women accessories, they could have a women dressed in solid black and holding one shoe
in each hand, a different shoe on each foot, handbags on each shoulder, and
the belts hanging from her neck.
Just as stated in the
above ad that some battered women might feel offended I run into this one. This is a perfect example of questionabel ethical advertisment. They are selling coffee but the can is smaller then
the abuser and abusie, one can barely see it. Most of us are taught at a young age that boys don’t hit girls. I
could only think what a child would think if they saw daddy spanking mommy because
she bought the wrong coffee. I can now see how they may have thought this would
point towards humor but it is on the line of one’s beliefs. http://static.businessinsider.com/image/4df6241049e2ae7a7f130000-590/chase-and-sanborn-1950s.jpg

This
last ad baffles my mind. Once again we grew up in a society where we are taught
to love ourselves just the way we are. Your parents /guardian tries to in steal
confidence by stating “You look very pretty today or look at my princess
because girls associate princesses as being beautiful”. Now we have billboards involving
needles to beautify one’s self, even though one may be permanently distorted. I
understand some people are not dealt the gorgeous card and may want to alter
their body in some way but this ad agency need to do a better job.
